Just like to share my experience, as I was thinking/worrying the same thing this time last year.
My daughter’s birthday is in April, and she chose to go to school herself this year. (Kindy, we are in NSW).
She stopped going to long day care last August as she felt so bored there (I was on maternity leave with my second one, so she had a choice). I knew a couple of friends’ kids born in April or May, and they chose to go to school next year. Later, they found by July/August this year, their kids are really ready for school but just have to wait another 7 months.
There are 4 Kindy classes this year in her school, and one of them all kids born in April/May, even June. My daughter is really enjoying school at the moment. She started to wear her school uniform from November last year after I bought them after the Orientation. She makes many friends from different grades as she goes to after school care 2 days a week.
So this is not a question for you, it is for your kid. Take her to school orientation, talk to her what the school about. Let them play with the kids in your neighbourhood already at the same school. Then let her choose which way to go. Sometimes, what we are concerned will never be a problem for them. (Like English, I have to start her Chinese class from next term).
To me I cannot see benefits yet, but definitely no regret and in fact very happy with her decision.
