Injured! Luffy got broken toe

As boy regardless human or dog, we all broke things when we grow up. This time, Luffy broke his toe.

I took Luffy to the park last night around 10pm, we played throw ball as usual. Then, there was once I throw  the ball and Luffy went for fetching but not return. So I went there to check and found he was lying on the grass with his left paw bended.
I knew he got injured immediately. so I carried him to home and my wife and I went to Pet emergency around 10:30pm.
Although we arrived at second place in the waiting queue but clearly Luffy is not in his critical condition so other pets were treated before us.
We waited till 11:40pm and finally got called in the consult room. The Vet checked Luffy and not quite sure whether he got broken toe or not. He asked us whether we wanted to X-ray Luffy which will cost a bit. I said of course.
So Luffy was taken to get X-ray which has concluded yes, he got broken toe.
Now, he got cast on his left paw and Elizabeth collar on his neck to prevent him from licking or tearing this bandage.
The whole thing finished around 12:40pm and we got home about 12:50pm. We fed Luffy with pain killer (Given by Vet) and he would need 6 to 8 weeks to recovery and not allowed to go to park or other activity.

The bill is $560 while X-Ray is $275 and Consultation is $165. I will claim insurance on that and see how much we will get back.

我们家latte，吃骨头都能把自己爪子咬到，然后给送去vet了。当时的状况和照片上的差不多。

我家这位爷现在经常jump jump !!趴桌子~~ 有时候会滑下，我好怕扭到他的pp 啊 。。。死人头！

Not quiet sure what happened, it was dark but it was on a rugby grass which should be nice and flat.
Luffy was whining this morning a bit and sleep a lot today. In the afternoon, he was trying to remove that collar of shame, but end was unsuccessful.

I'm wondering where we can buy this kind of Elizabeth Collar just in case the current is broken by him?

I spoke to Petplan and they should pay for everything after $125 access fee.

I was thinking to take Luffy to see and play real horse this weekend, but looks like he can only stay at home and going no where.

太晚出去不好啊，我们跟狗狗去park玩，天一黑就回家了，大大的狗狗park立马就安静了，几乎所有的狗狗都回家了。

Yeah, I understand that. but the circumstance doesn't grant Luffy time to have fun during the day.
Normally, I took Luffy out at 6:20am and 10:30pm since we arrived home around 7:10pm and after cooking dinner, wash etc, it would be around 9pm anyway. It's dark outside for sure. so there ain't much difference between 9pm and 10pm.
As a BC, Luffy requires 2 hours outdoor time per day , well, can't do that anymore since he got broken toe.
I opened the cage this morning, surprisingly, he didn't jump out immediately and whining for going out. He just sit in his cage quietly. I think even himself does realize he needs rest.

We really appreciate all replies from forum. I didn't expect this post will get so many attention since I merely wanted to share story and news so other  dog owners would know what to do.

Really gratitude to all.

P.S:
I ran into Luffy's gf (Da Zhuang) parents in the supermarket last night and they even wanted to pay a visit. Thanks a lot.

Luffy这个样子，大壮又不能去看望，否则俩又得打着玩，不利于回复病情啊。
我们周末提着猪耳朵去看看luffy～
大壮这两天也被取消了早上出去玩，我们俩都连续生病。现在她只能期盼下午玩得时间长一点。
多想周末再让他们俩一起出去玩啊～～

yeah, 90% recovered. I take him out every morning to have walk and easy run, still little bit limping but he is able to run, jump and full on.
I guess we don't really care too much about running, at the end, he is a pet rather than a racing dog.
