I am studying CPA program but recently I have got a new job in a Chartered Accountant firm so i am thinking about to stop my CPA program and start the CA study because all other workmates are CA members. I wonder how hard the CA program compared with CPA. Just worried that I might fail the exams.  All comments appreciated!!!

CA: no annual fee until you become full member of CA. But exam fee is more expensive than CPA. There will be a reform in 2013, if you want to start CA, start it now. CA has special exam if you fail normal exam. The pass rate of CA is higher than CPA. I think much higher...E.g, the pass rate of CPA TAX is around 70%, for CA: normal exam pass rate is 70%, then some people sit in special exam, the pass rate is more than 80% for special rate. I heard that, CA TAX pass rate is lower than other CA subject. So, if CA TAX pass rate is higher than CPA TAX. Other units will also higher than CPA.

CA has 3 terms per year. Give you less time to study. Also, it has assignment and focus sections (face to face study group, must attend). but from 2013, I think both assignment and focus section will be cancelled. Replaced by online test. Not too sure about onlie test part
