Medicare levy 是怎么计算出来的？

朋友是单亲母亲，收入是2.9W多刀，最近收到税务局的信，叫朋友补交585刀的Medicare levy。

这个是如何计算出来的？朋友说她似乎看到新足迹网上有帖子说收入低于3.3W是不用交这个的。

请教有谁知道？谢谢先。

你要拿到seniors and pensioners tax offset才能用三万多那个threshold。至于怎么才符合那个offset的要求，可以看下面这个链接。

In 2016–17 you do not have to pay the Medicare levy if your taxable income is equal to or less than $21,655 ($34,244 for seniors and pensioners entitled to the seniors and pensioners tax offset).

You will pay only part of the Medicare levy if your taxable income is between $21,655 and $27,068 ($34,244 and $42,805 for seniors and pensioners entitled to the seniors and pensioners tax offset).

$21,655 ------ $27,068，以及超过部分的税率是多少呢？
