I would wait for 2018 MBP coming out.
My history with Apple could be traced back to Apple II
Anyway, my last MBP was 2013 retina 13" 256GB SSD; really love it and had to sell it last June to get new 13" MBP with touchbar just because ATO gives $20K tax benefit. BTW, MBP is really good at resale value as 4 year old MBP could still be sold at about $1000. You could never imagine that price for Windows laptop (usu you need throw Windows ones into rubbish bin). And my friend has already asked me to sell my current one to her when I change to next MBP
Apart only from the enlarged touchpad in new MBP, I am kinda regret doing that as new touchbar MBP actually is NOT as good as old model for following reasons:
1) WTF the keyboard. I don't care what Apple thinks about the advanced tech about the new keyboard. But it feels like my first ever Founder laptop keyboard in 1997, which was a cheap model at RMB$10,000 (Wanyuan ben ) Previous 2013 model keyboard is the best ever feeling.
2) WTF Apple did NOT provide AC power cord any more. You have to plug whole AC power (the big part) on the power pad straightaway. I had to buy a genuine one from Apple with $29. 2013 model provided the cord.
3) WTF the backlit on Apple logo is gone. you see, the most fantastic feature of Apple MBP is the light on the Apple logo of the lid. Now Apple takes it off from 2016 model onwards.
4) WTF Apple takes off all the other ports and leaves the so-called good Thunderbolt/USB-C. I need to buy extra conversion device: $29 Apple USB-C to A; $99 USB-C to HDMI/display ports... When talks about lightweight, I now need to bring more stuffs with the laptop
5) WTF where is the magnetic power charge. I know USB-C could be used as charging port. But magnet is much better choice. You could never break the magnet one and it also shows you the charge finishing or not. I am looking to buy a USB-C/magnet conversion port.
6) WTF where is the power off button. Late I found the fingerprint reader could be used as power off. However, I want to power on the computer by myself, not the auto power on every time I open the lid! Sometimes I just want to show off to my friends about the new MBP![](static/image/smiley/default/wbs.gif)
Anyway, lots of complaints here but I guess my next one would still be Apple MBP, which usu is a fate for super Apple fan. |
