Top 40 burgled suburbs
In Victoria, on average, one in 63 homes is burgled each year. This equates to one burglary every 18 minutes. A review of crime statistics in metropolitan Melbourne has identified the top 40 suburbs most at risk of a burglary.
The RACV Home Security review involved an analysis of residential burglary rates of all metropolitan Melbourne suburbs, as well as a closer look at the suburbs commonly perceived as being safer in which to live.
The following table lists the top 40 postcodes across Victoria most at risk of a burglary.
For example, in Parkville, one in 15 homes is burgled each year. |
