Public system pay by awards. Each award has several levels. E.g. If your award is programmer, then you will be paid, say $49K per year. Every year there after you get 2K more. Until say year 7 when the automatic increase stops. By that time you either get an award upgrade to senior programmer or you will just get the automatic indexation of this award.

are you sure?

as far as I know, under the new national workplace relations system, wage rates and classifications are no longer contained within federal awards. They are in Pay Scales which are the responsibility of the Fair Pay Commission. Each federal award which contained wage rates, now has a corresponding Pay Scale containing the wage rates and classifications which were previously in the award. Never heard about classification will be reviewed every year.

Well the NSW public award system is like this. Every year there will be indexing and there is also award level which automatically increase every year until a set limit.

不知道是不是你们行业award这么规定的. 我们公司在NSW也有分公司, 同时有三个award apply 到不同性质工作的人,包括national award和state award, 都没有你提到的这条. 当然Fair Pay Commission每年是会根据CPI调整award rate, 但还真不知道是每年自动增长的....
