自由党自吹会搞经济， 为啥会是这样子，你能看明白吗？

刚刚查资料才知道， 原来在1996年霍华德上台时， 澳洲的人均GDP排到全球第18位。 经过过所谓自由党引以为豪， 大力吹捧的黄金12年后，在2007年。 澳洲的人均反而下降一位到了19位。
换而言之， 澳洲与其他国家比较， 这12年的经济实在是一般般。顶多就算随大流而已。

相比这工党的六年的“黑暗统治”，澳洲人均不降反升， 跳升10位， 进入了全球人均最富有国家的行列， 排名第9。
与其他200多个国家相比， 澳洲的经济， 个人的富裕程度可以说是突飞猛进。

有哪位经济达人能给俺解解这个惑???

这些数据都是换算成美元的，所以和澳币的升降有关，不是说排名高就一定经济有多好。
而澳元是商品货币，升降不是本国经济说了算

The truth about Howard's 'inherited debt'

Much has been written about the Howard government “inheriting” $96 billion debt from Labor in 1996.

By 2007, Australia had net financial assets of $29 billion. This is a significant turnaround, but if we analyse government debt in the last 30 years, some interesting facts emerge.

Recall from a previous discussion that just under half of the debt was in fact Liberal Party debt that was a hangover from the Fraser era under the Treasury-ship of John Howard.

Asset sales loom large in analysing government debt, which I have summarised as follows : $96billion “Labor debt”, comprised of $40 billion carried over from the Fraser government through the Hawke/Keating period, meaning that the true level of Labor debt was $56billion. To pay that off, the Howard Government sold almost $72billion of Government assets (Telstra, DASFLEET, etc), meaning that the move to negative net debt was not really due to any miraculous and bold fiscal settings, but owed everything to a series of asset sales.

Peter Costello will be remembered for selling two-thirds of Australia’s gold reserves for the rock-bottom price of $US306 per ounce (Today, gold is about $US1590 per ounce).

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) examined 200 years of government financial records across 55 leading economies.

The study found Australia’s most wasteful spending took place under the Howard-led Coalition rather than under Whitlam, Rudd or Gillard Labor governments.

The IMF identifies two periods of Australian “fiscal profligacy”, both during John Howard’s term in office – in 2003, at the start of the mining boom, and during his final years in office between 2005 and 2007.

According to Tony Abbott, these were the “Howard golden years”. Mr Abbott recently said “prudent fiscal management is in the Coalition’s DNA”. The facts suggest otherwise.

It identifies only two periods of Australian "fiscal profligacy" in recent years, both during John Howard's term in office - in 2003 at the start of the mining boom and during his final years in office between 2005 and 2007.

The Rudd government's stimulus spending during the financial crisis doesn't rate as profligate because the measure makes allowance for spending needed to stabilise the economy.
  
The Whitlam Labor government of 1972 to 1975 also escapes censure.
Responding to the IMF report, shadow treasurer Joe Hockey, who was a minister for financial services in the Howard government, said the Coalition left Labor with a $20 billion surplus and no net debt.

"It was not John Howard and Peter Costello who wasted billions of taxpayer dollars on dangerous pink batts and overpriced school halls, it was this Labor government," he said.

The economists from the IMF's fiscal affairs department found the only other year of profligate spending during the past six decades took place during the conservative government of Robert Menzies, in 1960. It says the Menzies government was notably prudent in 1950.

In the postwar years of 1947 to 1949, the Chifley Labor government was deemed prudent as were the Scullin and Lyons Labor and Coalition governments between 1931 and 1935. John Curtin's Labor government was profligate in 1942.
The study found that in broad terms Australia's government debt has been falling since 1932, when it peaked at 98 per cent of gross domestic product. Across all levels of government it is currently just above 20 per cent after climbing since the global financial crisis.

The budget balance has been broadly stable for half a century.

The key finding is that Australia has few examples of economic recklessness compared with other developed nations. Canada's government debt peaked at 143 per cent of GDP in 1946, Japan's reached 233 per cent in 2011, Israel's hit 284 per cent in 1984.

New Zealand recorded government debt of 226 per cent in 1933 and a budget deficit of 7.5 per cent of GDP in 1995.
Developed nations were generally at their most prudent before World War I and during the 1990s, the study finds.
They were generally their least prudent during the mid-1970s and in some cases after the global financial crisis.

The IMF study mirrors findings of a 2008 Australian Treasury study that found real government spending grew faster in the final four years of the Howard government than in any four-year period since the 1990s recession.

The number of spending decisions worth more than $1 billion climbed from one in the first Howard budget to nine in the last. The proportion of savings measures fell from one-third of budget measures at the start of the Howard era to 1.5 per cent at the end.

In its final year in office, the Coalition boosted the AusLink national roads program by $2.3 billion and announced grants for water conservation and water buybacks worth $10 billion over 10 years.

我现在想这个想得头都要炸了。楼上有人说， 大家口袋有钱了， 经济不一定就是好。 口袋里钱更有国际购买力了， 也不一定是经济好。
那啥子才算经济好呀。 大家天天盼着经济好， 究竟是在盼望啥呢？

难道真如人说是的人类欲望无底线， 越有钱就越有欲求不满的感觉？

如果大家都把所有的钱换成美元或人民币，自然是有钱了。但生活在澳洲的话，大家都用澳元，看的是购买力和物价指数，所以那个排名就是浮云。唯一可能受益的是海外旅游和网购，但同时也打击了澳洲的出口和旅游。这几年生意有多难物价有多高就不用我说了吧，货币不是越高或者越低越好，价格和价值保持一致的才是健康货币。

咱不是经济达人，岂敢给意见；

只是觉得你说的 GDP 变动和祖国很类似，所以估计同一回事吧。

自由党有美籍爱国澳胞默多克的支持，广告做得自然是最好的。

自由党让澳洲经济原地踏步12年，竟然被吹成了最懂搞经济的政党。

澳币之所以高，是因为澳洲的经济好，所以其他国家的基金都买入澳币。
