Yesterday was my first Mother's Day, even though my little one is already more than 18 months. I don't remember I did anything on last year's Monther's Day, only recall that I was so tired all the time, didn't even realise Mother's Day was on, LG also forgot.
In the morning, my precious handed me a card with a tiger on it when I was having breakfast, indicating I was a bit strict, of course it was organised by his father. There was also a olive tree, according to LG, olive tree can live up to thousands of years and one day our little one will be reminded that it was a present for mum on her first mother's day. I thought It was a odd choice of present, but I am still quite happy at least he remembered this year, that's all it matters.
We spent the day by catching train and ferry to Manly beach and had our lunch at the beach. It was my son's first time on the ferry, he was really excited and he was constantly shouting at the other boats passing by, happy shouting of course. It was a really nice and cheap trip, $2.5 for a family fun day ticket for train and ferry, lunch cost us $30. Yes we did spent a fair bit of time on train and ferry, but to a little one that's part of the excitement.
We came back home about 5:30pm and LG started cooking the Sunday roast chicken, I was not allowed in the kitchen as it was Mother's Day, all I did was playing with my son and have cup of tea.
It wasn't a luxury day with expensive present, but I was really, really happy because I spent a lot quality time with 2 people I love and they showed me that they care about me, the hard working mother.
What's your story, hope we all had a lovely day on a day we deserve some recognition. |
