From 27 February 2021, eligible current or former Visitor visa holders outside of Australia can apply for a Visitor (subclass 600) visa in the Tourist, Business Visitor, Sponsored Family or Approved Destination Status streams, without paying a VAC. Applications must be made by 31 December 2022.
To be eligible, the applicant must have held a Visitor visa that was granted on or before 20 March 2020 while they were outside Australia, and expired, or will expire, between 20 March 2020 and 31 December 2021, and which was either:
a multiple entry visa, or
a single entry visa that was not used for travel to Australia.
Applicants granted or refused a nil VAC application, made on the basis of being affected by COVID-19 travel restrictions, are not eligible for another nil VAC application. |
