To whom it may concern,
I am writing to notify the school that my son has not been present for the past two days (Thursday and Friday), due to our shared concern of the exponential increase of confirmed cases of the Wuhan coronavirus. Coupled with the fact that a lot of families came back from oversea holidays, especially numerous people going back to China, the threat of the coronavirus being present in the kids is high. With most of the population of the school being east Asian, the likelihood of a vast majority of them going back to China is quite high. My son took the two days off as a precautionary step, something the school should have enforced, however clearly, the school does not care. When considering the risks and consequences of either not going to school for 2 days, or the coronavirus, the former seems to be insignificant. At the time, there is no cure of the virus, and will probably take years until a vaccine is even produced. |
