“Are you trying to say that I should give him more?"
”OK, my thoughts are I don't have to share all of my money with others. What's the point of doing that? If I gave all my money to him, then he would become rich and I become poor. You still end up with one rich person and one poor person. Nothing changed."
“Why it's 10% not 20% or 5%?"
What does it mean?”
“The English word is disposable income. ”Disposable" is an adjective. The verb is dispose. It's a fancy way to say "spend". So disposable income means spendable money: the amount of money you can afford to spend. If you have a mortgage that sucks up half of your salaries already, you only have 50% of your income left. Then you have to pay for your bills, grocery shopping, kids' tuition fees, etc. So disposable income is the amount of money you are left with after purchasing all the necessities. It's a much smaller amount than the salary you receive at the first place."
"So it's like there's 24 hours a day but I only have thirty minutes to play minecraft.“
“What if I only have ten dollars left as my whatever income you just mentioned?"
"What if I don't earn money. What if I am a teenage or a housewife? Should I spend my family's money on my donation? That's cheating. I get the credits but I didn't earn the money."
”Or you can vote for a government to help people. The government should take care of them too. And you can help the animal shelter to look after the dog."
上车。
