I and my boyfriend are living together for more than 2 years, and going to marry next Feb. He bought a townhouse in July this year. When he applied for the first hime grant, he put my name as De Facto partner in the application form. The propety and home laon are all under his name.

Now I want to buy a property under my name before we marry. We will live in my property for 6 months, and then rent out. In this situation, can I apply for the first home grant under my name? Thanks.

If your name is on the application, it is impossible to get 2nd bite of the cherry (first home grant).

Oh, I see. I think the same way.

But, when I applied for the CBA Home Loan pre-approval. The banker told me I still can get it because I don't have any property and home loan under my name. And if I apply, just don't put my partner's name on the application form. I am very confused about it, so I post a question here. Thanks.

Only one grant for single or couple. So if you were already de facto with your bf when he applied then it's too late.

当然,你可以在申请表格上不填写你partner的名字,但如果你们真的是partner,这种这种行为本身就已构成fraud,是offence,一旦被税务局查出来,不但要追回这笔FHOG,还要被罚款,还有可能留案底。。。

那就是说如果是夫妇买房,只能拿到一次补助

他对你好像很不够意思,把你名字放进去APPLICATION,毫无意义,又不让你拥有产权。

at pre-approval, normally they can say anything, because they do not do anything if they think you are a clear customer.  But you will get the first home grant because there is no property under your name, which they check it first before give you the money.  however, like Villa master said, there is a risk that they will find you in in that form your de facto filled in or by another way( for instance, check your tax return) to  find out and give your penity later.

if he did not put your number in that form. and you do not have marriage paper, no tax link.  I think should be ok

It is too complicated. Actually what he bought is a business, and the townhouse is attached to the business, which means the business has two parts, one is the business itself, the other one is the townhouse. So the business and townhouse are all under his name.
