Yes, CA needs to do CPD as well. Basically every accounting professional bodies require their members to do CPD. You just can't get away from it if you got pick from their audit.

For CA Specialists (e.g. CA SMSF specialist), those members need to allocate 40% of their CPD over that specialist area

OMG!! that means if I had both CPA and CA, I would have a lot of hours to do!!! btw, how many hours can one CA module count for CPA then
But if I do some training, it should be able to count for both CPA and CA, right?

I guess the numbers of hours from a CA subject study count for CPA CPD is debatable. A typical CPA program CPD is 120 hours per subject. Given that a CA subject requires at least the same amount of hours to study, you can put 120 hours in your CPD diary.
