Euthanasia: Should the right to die be granted?
Euthanasia is the system where doctors have the right to put their patients down if they are in too much pain. It is seen as highly immoral and many people are calling it murder, and it is not always necessary. Therefore, it must be stopped.
Doctors, when starting their job, take an oath that they don’t have the legal right to take action on their own or be part of a killing where it is illegal. They are also not allowed to directly involve with a death. Is Euthanasia illegal under this rule though?
Euthanasia is also seen as an act that is immoral and highly unethical because it devalues human life. Nearly all religions are against this system, and many people are calling it murder. When Euthanasia is legalised in a country for severely sick people, there is a ‘slippery slope’ effect and the laws would change to allow normal people to apply for it, and then non-voluntary Euthanasia. One such example of this is the Netherlands.
Some people that are under heavy emotional or mental stress apply for Euthanasia, although they could probably continue living with the help of a psychologist, so is it useless murder too? Sometimes the patients could live through without death being subjected to them.
Doctors are probably getting lazy or something because Euthanasia avoids doctors and nurses from finding other alternative ‘cures’ to help treat the sick and so they are resorting to quick, easy methods like euthanasia.
Overall, Euthanasia is an immoral method of ‘curing’ people of their diseases and scientists should work harder to find actual working remedies. |
