It seems you have made up your mind, I have to warn you before you cannon ball in the dog pool.
GS is not an easy breed for a first time dog owner especially we all sense you weigh your baby, house much higher than the dog.
Just be aware it's a guard dog, you need to training it properly otherwise it will CAUSE more trouble than help.
There are similar cases in the forum as well, blindly having big dog or guard dog but just leave it in the yard and only give food and water and expect it will turns out a good guard dog.
If you have same thing in your mind, I hope you can snap out of this dream, and not go down this path.

Looking after a puppy is similar like having a new baby, so make sure you have time for it and your family has fully prepared for this dog.

I'm not quite sure you are daddy or mommy. But it seems you are very insecure and this insecure feeling will pass down to your dog and make it very jumpy.
As dog owner, you need to be a leader and give dog and other family member secure, stable and steady feeling.
If dog feels you are very insecure, it will try to take control and become leader in the house to protect his pack.
Also, I still believe you need to have physical strength to control dog especially for German Shepard.
Will you be able to all those things? Can your man in the house up for this task?

真心很感谢你的建议和忠告。 其实到现在为止我还没有完全确定要哪个breed。 抱着多问多看的心理， 打算和LG还有小人一起去看看不同breeder的狗狗。 孩子和家在我这里肯定是最重要的， 但这不是说狗不重要， 凡事都有一个priority的对吧。我是full time， 但是LG工作的时间比较自由， 他本来不愿意养狗， 觉得很耗时间。 但是通过沟通认可了养狗， 而且也会帮助training和照顾。 他本人比较喜欢德牧， 而定规矩是他的强项  而我其实更中意柯基或者边牧， 但是就怕会伤到我家小人。 真的很难选。

我没有缺乏安全感啦， 但是想要看门这个附加值因为两边邻居都被偷过。 狗狗想做主人， 基本没可能，家里都不是娇小玲珑的主。。。。

Thanks for sharing some information for us. I have new born girl (12 days old) and we have consider about safety for her long before we have Luffy.
All dog needs to training and some dogs are more aggressive than other dogs. Both Corgi and BC are good choice for family dog, make sure you get a male dog rather than female since bitch is always likely get jealous.
Corgi has short legs, if you have the thing for it.
BC is very smart dog and naughty one. But they can adapt all situation and I was told they intend to heard young baby like sheep. -_-b

but both are not exactly guard dog which are intend to be over protective or aggressive.

This is just lovely. May I ask how old is your daughter?
With GS, I'm not expert, I believe there are people in this forum having GS, you can check with them.
But there are few things I would like to add on.

GS requires a lot of time to be with his owner. People used to think to leave him in the yard and like it can raise by himself, that's misunderstanding.
GS temperament is always more important than physical and his mark. Make sure you check with puppy's mother and spend sometime with her to see how she handle strangers and her owner.
GS dog intends smell little bit, so be prepared

You can send your dog to dog kennel. Yes, that's the cost you want a GS.
You will learn GS is very attached to his owner.
get an extra large cage and put into your living area for him, once he is old enough, he can live in the kennel in the yard.

That's easy, put a wood board on the top of stair, dog can walk on that.

楼主决定养德牧的话就要开始准备啦，特别是小时候一定要耐心，耐心再耐心！！
如果有人从中国过来可以淘宝买些床啊，垫子啊，换洗床罩（狗狗的），还有啃骨头的薄垫子。小的可以买一个就够了，超大的如果可以多买几个。这边做的超大垫子都没有国内做的大〜
玩具直接亚马逊最好，先从小玩具买起，狗狗小时候对太大号的玩具完全没兴趣啊。
楼主对待德牧一定要向对待小孩一样一样的。虽然他们很聪明，有很多的优点，但是他们可能也会有让人失望的时候，多给狗狗一些时间，给他一些长大的时间，他们带给你的快乐绝对超过你的想象。虽然我们现在还没有小孩，但是我们从Jerry身上学到了很多东西。
德牧真的很需要跟人在一起，这样对他的性格行为都有好处，可以即时制止一些不好的行为。如果一直关院子的德牧，那真的是非常恐怖的！另外，楼主家围墙够高吗？Jerry现在跳一米五高的fence都不用助跑的直接出去了。
楼主玩具可以先买玩具了，多买些，给他换着玩，这样换牙期就不会咬家具啦。
对了，据说母狗性格有些还不如公狗稳定，当然也有说母狗服从性比公狗好的，现在我们还没试过母的GSD，不好判断啊〜
GSD绝对是让人误解最多的狗狗，他们外表只是看上去强悍，其实他们都有一颗超级温顺粘人爱撒娇的心啊〜

楼主以前没养过狗的话，最好不要从小狗开始养啦！小狗刚到新家晚上有可能一整晚都在闹，还有训练NNBB的问题。。。。你们大人受得了小孩子估计也受不了吧。三思而后行啊！
成年狗到新家最终也会跟主人亲的，我小时候养的哈巴狗，是在别家而且已经生过一胎的将近两岁的母狗，来我家后也一直和我们很亲！有两次被别人偷走了，挣扎着扯断脖子上的铁锁链自己找回家来。。。。。

I disagree, they want to have a GS, not some poodles. It's much better to raise a dog from puppy so you know there won't be damage in physical and mental.

有9个月狗狗的这个breeder我不是很中意， 后来给他/她连续发了2个email咨询一些问题， 一封都不回， 可能不耐烦了吧。 之后通电话的breeder很好， 很耐心的回答我很多问题， 也问了我很多问题并且建议我去看看狗父母再觉得是不是要买他们的小狗。 他们那里好像还有一条大约6个月的狗狗。 等我去看了以后再来汇报。
