When renovating your home you are constantly confronted with gaps and cracks. Small cracks are usually easy fixed with a little filler, but deep gaps or cracks, like those encountered when renovating old homes or installing window and door frames can be a real problem.
Gap Filler Rod from Moroday (Master Distributors, Melbourne) makes the process a whole lot easier, quicker and cheaper, by providing an inexpensive backing for your calking compound. It is a continuous polyethylene foam rod available in 6mm, 10mm and 15mm diameters. You select a size that is about 3mm larger than the crack or gap that you need to fill, cut the rod to the appropriate length for the gap, then, using your finger or a blunt tool, like the rear end of a pencil, press the rod into the gap far enough to sit just below the surface. Then seal with your preferred caulking compound.
Gap Filler Rod is moisture resistant and extremely flexible around corners. It can be used with silicone, oil base, polyurethane, latex and acrylic caulks and sealants. Because the bulk of the gap has been filled with Gap Filler Rod, you will need only a fraction of the caulk that you would have needed without it, saving you time and money
Moroday Gap Filler Rod comes in a 10m trade pack, a mini spool or a bulk spool, depending on how much you are likely to need. You can also buy it by the metre from hardware stores and Bunnings. |
