It is called either, sick leave, personal leave or carer's leave.
The company is obligated on providing certain amount to you per year, however whether you need prove to take them varying from company to company. Some don't require any prove at all, some require certificate for every day taken.
Most common is require to provide doctor's certificate if you take more than two days off in a roll, Monday or Friday off. The days before and after public holiday also fall into the weekend rule.
The minimum amount is 10 days per year and they accrue from year to year, under specific conditions they can be cashed in. More information can be found at
