Short Cut Track
Directions: Begin at Conservaion Hut, down steps, turn left at first intersection to the Wentworth Falls picnic area.
Time: 20 mins one way
Grade: Easy
Overcliff-Undercliff Track
Directions:Begin at Conservation Hut or Wentworth Falls picnic area.
Time: 2 hrs one way
Grade: Easy
Weeping Rock
Directions: Begin at the Wentworth Falls picnic area or Lookout at the end of Sir Henry Burrell Drive.
Time: 1 hr return
Grade: Easy
Den Fenella Track
Directions: Begin at Wentworth Falls picnic area
Time: 1 & half hrs return
Grade: Medium
Princes Rock
Directions: Begin at Wentworth Falls picnic area
Time: 30 mins return
Grade: Easy - some steps
Rocket Point Lookout
Directions: Take the track from the Wentworth Falls picnic area at the lookout on Sir Henry Burrell Drive to the top of Wentworth Falls and cross at Queen's Cascades.
Time: 1 hr return
Grade: Medium
Nature Track
Directions: Begin at Conservation Hut, take track to Queen Victoria and Empress Lookouts, down metal stairs and continue to intersection. Turn right and follow track across bridge. After Edinburgh Castle Rock, track exits onto West St or return to Conservation Hut along Pipeline Track.
Time: 2-3 hrs return
Grade: Medium
Darwins Walk
Directions: Begin from Wilson Park in Falls Rd.
Time: 2 hrs return
Grade: Easy
National Pass
Directions: Begin at Conservation Hut, follow track to Empress Lookout, down metal stairs then turn left at intersection with Nature Track.
Time: 4 hrs circuit
Grade: Hard
Wentworth Pass
Directions: Begin as for National Pass, as the intersection of the National Pass and Wentworth Pass, take the right fork and cross the Valley of the Waters creek above Flat Rock Falls. With the creek on your left, follow the track into the valley and cross the creek again below Red Rock Falls. After the Vera Falls turnoff, the track follows the cliffline to Jamison Creek. It then doubles back to the bottom of Slacks Stairs (Isaac Slack was an early Park Trustee). Climb the stairs and join National Pass to return to Wentworth Falls picnic area.
Time: 4 & half - 5 hrs circuit
Grade: Hard
Vera Falls (for experienced walkers only)
Directions: Follow Wentworth Pass track just pass creek crossing below Red Rock Falls. Track may be obstructed by fallen trees and vines. Route to top of falls is steep and slippery, take care. There are several routes to base of falls; all are steep and slippery. On return trip, take care to avoid the Roberts Pass turnoff which turns off to the left about half way back to Red Rock Falls.
Time: 4-5 hrs return
Grade: Hard - requires map reading skills
Historic Routes (Warning: for experienced walkers, with good map reading skills only)

There are a number of less well known routes in the Wentworth Falls area, whcih are not maintained by the NSW NP & Wildlife Service, and which require good navigational skill. Below the cliffs, Roberts Pass links to the Gladstone Pass below Inspiration Point. This links to Lindeman Pass which finishes near the Leura Forest. For these walks, all graded hard, inform police of your whereabouts and carry topographic maps.
Strongly recommand you to carry a map of this National Park with you. |
