“An update for those who are interested with regards to my Black Listed Phones from the 4G network/s.
My battle with Aldi Mobile/Telstra for one of my phones has perhaps ended this morning.
My "Oppo Find X3 Lite 5G" that both Aldi/Telstra claimed was "not 4G capable", because it
"did not have VoLTE" (but it did) & or could not work on Telstra's 4G network because it didn't have "the right Telstra configuration files" to work on Telstra's VoLTE" (which it did) & could not be used for Emergency calling (which it can) is now white listed & working.
A search & a scan with an app called "Net Monster" this morning shows that this phone is currently working on the Telstra 4G network, today.
If I had not taken this issue to my provider, Aldi/Telstra & to the TIO & fort for my use of this phone then this two year old $500 phone would have become "e waste" by the end of this week.
When did the Australia consumer give the Telco's the right to dictate what devices we can & cannot buy & what devices we can or cannot use on their networks that we pay to use?
If Aldi\Telstra had it way, I would have had to go out & buy a new phone that only Aldi/Telstra approves of. I don't think so. Well not for me, anyway.
I know that there are many, many people out there making & lodging similar complaints. I do hope that you are all able to have some similar success. If your phone is "4G LTE & 000 capable" continue your fight. If the Telco's still blocks your phone from their network then seek financial compensation for your losses.
We must have the right to buy & use the handset that we choose to buy (if it's compatible in Australia). We cannot allow the Telco's to take this right away from us.
"Fight For Right".”
