精算真喜欢自己去一门门考就可以了，数学好完全可以自学考试，不是非得读书的。

都是本科学位(bachelor degree), 但honor一般学制四年，比不带honor的多一年。

An honours degree typically refers to a higher level of academic achievement at an undergraduate level. Honours degrees are better suited if you want to go further into academia than industry.

Honours is an extra year of study, usually following immediately on from a pass degree, that combines aspects of undergraduate study with those of postgraduate research. It introduces advanced research training through the completion of a thesis or a creative or practice-based research project.

If you undertake a Bachelors degree in Australia, you typically have the opportunity to complete either a Pass degree or an Honours degree. A Pass degree, the standard course followed by most students, is structured around coursework and is usually completed in three years. An Honours degree is available only to students who have attained a specified level of academic achievement in a particular program of study, involves both coursework and advanced research training, and usually has an extra year of university study devoted to it.

数学主分纯数，应用数学和数理统计，然后再细分的，精算属于商科，关键是要看孩子的兴趣。

Unsw，读三年叫computer science，读四年honours学位就叫software engineering

有的学生，本来读software engineering，最后一年找到工作不想读了就拿个cs的学位毕业

UNSW 任何 Engineering 4年平均分65以上自动拿 Honours ， Computer science 3年制， 平均分65以上可以选择多1年读Honours Year

CSE这几年改制了？  

之前CS就是CS，Engineering就是 Engineering， CS读四年honours学位还是CS with Honours

CS就是计算机， software engineering就是软件工程， 前面1年学的差不多，后面主科的开始变得不同， CS记得比较Flexible选择范围大可硬可软，SE好像选择都是偏软件工程那些。

还有一个叫Computer Engineering， 前面类似CS后面偏EE一点。


个人推荐还是读CS，后期按自己喜好选择选修科。

我的理解数学更抽象。精算算是应用数学的一种。数学学得好学得精都是天赋异禀，可遇不可求，精算学得好太多了。

请问computer science 跟 Data science念的东西哪里不同? 出路也不同吗? Computer Science出路还是比较广比较好吗?

就是说如果读了software engineering, 但万一最后平均分没到65，那就没有honor了 ......

如果真要专注于精算我建议的读个应用数学，纯数学就算了。  至于计算机我觉得以后半路出家都可以，读个Master，TAFE或者网络课程都行的，我同学大把半路出家做IT现在的contract都是过千/日。

IT 不错， 但前提是你必须要能避免被印度的廉价劳工或 AI/cloud tech 取代。个人认为 Y2K 之后 就不再是IT黄金期了，虽然市场还是有 不过 越来越难生存。也许以后走向会变，希望如此。

谢谢大家的踊跃发言和意见，我们目前打算把方向改为 Advanced Mathematics （honor） + Computer Science五年制专业，当然娃儿还会自己去做点Research ~

我没有找到应用数学这个选项，只在高等数学的主修课里找到应用数学这个Option
