VCE英语及中文第一、第二语言选择界限

我家三岁半过来的，也不打算考中文。真不知道是什么样的人给出这样的找分。

有个疑问哈，vce可以不考第二语言吗？我的意思是除了英语是必考的，选择其他科目时不选第二语言（中文，拉丁文，法文，等等）可以吗？

可以啊，但得看大学想学的专业对VCE科目有无要求。

VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook 2019上面是这样定义的

English as an Additional Language
Enrolment in EAL is available only to students who have approved EAL status. A student may be eligible
for EAL status if:
• they have been a resident in Australia or New Zealand or other predominantly English-speaking country
for no more than seven years (and they have not arrived after 1 January 2012) or they are a student of
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent whose first language is not English
(Note: The period of seven years is to be calculated cumulatively over the student’s whole life. The
calculation of time spent in Australia is made from the date of last arrival plus any previous periods
of time spent in Australia or any predominantly English-speaking country. Time spent out of Australia
during school vacations should be included in the accumulation towards the seven years because there
would have been no disruption to education during these periods.)
• English has been the student’s major language of instruction for a total period of not more than seven
years over the period of their education.

Students from a non-English-speaking background
To apply for EAL status, each student is required to submit an Application for Enrolment in English
as an Additional Language Units 3 and 4 form to the school. This is designed to assist schools in
evaluating a student’s EAL status. Schools should maintain a record of all completed applications. Schools
should not enrol a student in EAL unless they have received all documentation verifying that the student
meets the EAL eligibility criteria.

A student may be eligible for EAL status if they meet two criteria.
For Criterion 1, the student must fit one of the following:
• on the first day of the academic year, the student must not have been a resident in Australia or New
Zealand or other predominantly English-speaking country for more than seven years. The period of

孩子过来从五年级 term 1开始读起，12年级初提交申请表时能满足条件吗？正好读了7个学年，居住也差不多刚刚满7年。

考VCE的EAL需要学4个Unit，11年级学Units 1&2, 12年级学Units 3&4。所以提交申请的时间应该是截止10年级的term 4吧？

手册上面说要向学校提交EAL Unit 3 和 Unit 4申请。计算截至时间是on the first day of the academic year. 具体是指11年级的第一天还是12年级的第一天不清楚啊

抱歉翻个老帖请教：
孩子再国内上完6年级，到维州上7年级，那英语可以考第二语言，如果要考中文的话，是第二语言高级吗？

期待有人能帮助回答下，谢谢！

第二语言高级组CSLA 同时满足以下两个条件：
1.以中文教学为主要语言的学校接受教育不超过7年，并且；
2.以中文教学为主要语言的学校接受教育的最高年级不得超过相当于维省的七年级。


所以，孩子是满足第二语言高级的条件的。

语言组别的认定，在12年级考试前会进行认证的。未经申请无法注册学习考试。

不超过7年这个要求不知道要不要加上幼儿园那几年教育

对的，第一语言无须认证，第二语言都需要。

我的理解是不加上，因为幼儿园不是正式的教育。也就是说按照第二语言高级组别的认定条件，应该是从1年级开始计算，截止到6年级完成，理论上都是第二语言高级组，注意我之前回复的是两个条件并列。

第二语言组要求是：在以中文为主的学校接受教育有十二个月及以上或者在中国、香港、澳门、台湾居住满三年及以上，不能认定为第二语言组。注意这两个是或者条件。


结论就是很多未在国内正式入学，但是3岁以后来澳的孩子，你不是第二语言组，一定是第二语言高级组。与在国内完成6年级学习的孩子分在同一组。这就意味着，如果将来选考中文，未在国内接收过中文系统学习的孩子，还是比较吃亏的。当然对于6年级左右来澳，他的英文也会有一些问题，这就是另外一个话题了。



总之就是这个第二语言组别都是要经过认定的。


不过，第二语言高级组的考试和国内的语文学科考试的侧重点是不同的。不是说三岁以后来的孩子一定考不好，但是从某些方面讲确实需要家长和孩子付出比较大的努力。

前面已经有人回复过了，就是11年级学习unit 1 &2 需要注册，这个注册的之前，先做资格认定，才能完成注册。

有坛友问，为什么三岁以后没上过学的孩子要和在国内读完6年级的一个组别。这里当然有一个组别分组是否合理的问题。但是IB基本选考中文组别也是类似的规定。因为是语言学专业的，个人认为主要是两方面原因决定的：
1 VCE中文第二语言考试，并不是国内的语文考试。国内的语文考试重在理解、挖掘思想，而VCE考试重在体现语言能力，或者说基本的语言逻辑、基本的信息抓取、转写这样的能力。
2 三岁的孩子如果是中文母语，基本已经具备了语言信息抓取、复述的这个能力了。语音语调、语法这些都不会是太大问题。

虽然对于未在国内正式读书的孩子来讲，分在高级组有点儿不公平，但是 如果跳出来想想，VCE选考更像中文版雅思，未必不能取得好成绩。而在国内学的久的未必一定高分，因为容易跑偏。

最惨的是我们这种在国内呆到小学毕业，从头到尾上的国际学校，完完全全的英文教育，中文听说和国内孩子没区别，但是读写都不行的。我感觉我们是不是得另选一门第二语言？

无法给出特定的建议。因为VCE考试题型是听说读写的综合考察，您现在孩子的问题在于读写上的话，可以针对性的强化，另外以高级组作文为例，并不是写多深奥多么复杂的句子就能得高分的。

而且最后的选考也要结合孩子的兴趣去考虑，如果孩子喜欢，愿意付出努力，四个单元的学习以后成绩也会不错；如果去学一个完全没有兴趣的语言，成绩也可能有问题。

VCE考试的优点是学科的多样化，分组别考察的科学化，但是结合计分规则看，其实总是要有一定的取舍。

各位只能根据实际情况去选择了。
