Position: Associate Scientist, Advanced Materials Research - Polymer Process Development
Location: Pudong, Shanghai
Reporting to: Vice President, Innovation Asia-Pacific
People Management Responsibility: Yes
Travel Required: Yes

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
1. Start a 6-12 months training at our research facilities in Germany
2. Afterwards work in Shanghai within our Asian international research teams in polymer process development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop new and optimize existing polymer processes, transfer new products from lab-scale to pilot and production scale in close co-operation with product development department.
2. Be responsible for a professional project management.
3. Plan and elaborate innovative research projects and make intensive use of the internal expertise.
4. Extend your research network by establishing contacts with contractors, universities and research institutes.
RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Candidates with PhD degree major in process or chemical engineering, or process technology.
2. Sound knowledge in one of the following areas: polymers, reaction engineering, chemical process engineering or thermal process engineering/thermodynamics (heat and mass transfer), process modeling.
3. High level of creativity and personal initiative along with excellent English communication skills.
4. Comfortable with working and communicating in interdisciplinary teams.
