I am in Mel, normal birth at Frances Perry house
Out-of-hospital ( not cover by insurance , Medicare only), out of pocket around $3500 including all visits to OB, management fee, test and scan. My Ob's management fee is $2700.
In hospital, covered by both Medicare and insurance
For Ob, Delivery fee for normal birth , Medicare $1200, insurance $1000. No out of pocket for my Ob but some others may charge more to patient.
I chose epidural, for the anesthetist , Medicare $600, insurance $500, out of pocket $200 for the call out at mid night. Again, other anesthetist may charge more.
For hospital, covered by insurance only,
Birthing suite $1200 , I stay at birthing suite about 18 hours .
Ward, $900/day, I stay 5 days, so $4500 in total. |
