anyone building a house should consider prewiring for your home theatre.
it is almost impossible to get the HDMI cable up through the stud wall if you do not pre wire
even the system is not top notch, it has impressed many friends of mine.
you don't go to cinema anymore ( but you end up buying a lot blurays)

any comments / questions are more then welcommed

hope this topic can help me earn more points, my feet are so sore without footwares

1 x 2.4 m wide sliding door at rear
1 x 600mm window on the right
1 x 1.4 m wide entry door on the left from lounge
so need 3 curtains

some home theatre shop ( 8ig 9icture p30pl3) tell me i only need 90-95 inch,then i think this will only be slightly bigger than a plasma then i did my research on THX website so i decided a 120 inch for 4.5m viewing distance

想问问楼主，用的是什么牌子的projector,是背投的还是lcd的？
石膏板墙走hdmi线也不是不可能，看房子结构吧。关键的问题是那个hdmi线要走多远，这个比较麻烦点，因为，走得越远，信号的衰减就越厉害。
如果想要美观的话，将投影仪倒挂在屋顶的话，是一定要走线的。
看楼主的窗帘好像并没有做得很高，想问问在白天是如何挡光的，在白天看电影的效果如何？

不过，这个还是很爽的。

projector = sanyo plv z700, 3lcd full HD. this is entry level model, in general performance is ok but you cannot expect contrast level like a plasma /lcd TV or hihg end projector

my HDMI cable is Kordz 10 m long, it can even go to 15 m long without loss depends on the materials inside the cable e.g. the awg value

my projector is at ceiling , HDMI in roof, i ordered a ceiling power point during construction , so the end result look very neat to me

very good question about the curtain, there is a gap about 10 cm between the curtain track and the wall, so i cut some cartoon box strips to fill the gap also there is light leak between archivae and curtain along the height of the window , i put few screw on the archivae then use a strong magnet to stick the curtain on the the archivae, finally the result for daytime viewing is acceptable to me and my friends.

mmmm....your questions tell me you also have a home theatre at home?

我家也有一个，不过目前的这个空间比较小。LZ家的几多大？

以后希望有个大大的家庭影院。。。不过，电影院还是要去的，效果还是不一样的。

the threatre room is 4x5m , it is not an ideal dimension .
an ideal room should be more retangular to make better sound effect.
you must avoid the theatre room being a perfect square

with the same film ( e.g. batman the dark knight ), i actually find myself more absorbed into while at home than in cinema, may be this is only my subjective feeling with the amount of money already spent, ha ha

actually i still go to cinema for movie like 72家租客, because i would not buy this type of DVD

这个大小还好啦，要求太高就不用了。我理想中是再长一点点。不过，我也就自己乱想想

去电影院看电影还总是有恋爱的感觉，在家里么，感觉有点麻木。

most of them are downlights , then add some floor lamp as you can see in the photo, the floor lamp has dimmer function to make it theatre friendly

i highly recommend people to put downlight when building a house , it looks muuuuuuuch more nice, remember put as many downlight as you can afford.

price is $3100 aussie stock ( 3 year warranty) + 120 inch fixed screen + delivery Aus wide

it may be cheaper now as AUD has been strong and new model is on the way

in a 5.1 setting, the guy ( http://www.carltonaudiovisual.com.au/) sold me the system said my room is too small to notice a different between 5.1 and 7.1 ( i hope he was telling the truth)
after some more research this may be better with similar price:

but you have to listen to it before you buy any speakers and preferably do a side by side comparison

yes i agree the black is not excellent with this LCD model.
but remember this is a cheap entry level Full HD model, i am happy with it at the moment,
may be in few years i will upgrade ( when my mortgage get smaller)

it is a 16 guage cable recommended by the speakers saleman, name : tenor by Pro AV

only the rear speakers and the HDMI are prewired, the rest of the wires in front just running behind the TV unit

天花板的HDMI大约需要几米？
背后的surround speakers的线,布的时候是纯的线还是带插针的啊？
我的房子也要开始考虑这些问题了。。。
准备也用denon 2310,然后配JBL的ES900 5.1套，考虑背后多布两个线头，以防哪天兴趣高了还能多买2个front spearkers转7.1.。。。。。
楼主的投影用的画框布，这东西拆起来方便么？
比起点子伸缩的布，哪种好些啊。。。？
