或chip-fish shop,milkbar
e.g,sometimes customers in fitting room they want changing style or size, colour.

1. Of course you can open a shop. However, you will be disadvantaged in some ways. Bu then again, these advantages, which vary in degree, could be overcome. For example, by hiring a student who speaks good english.
2. You'll have less obstacles if you set up businesses which requires less inter-communication with the locals since that's your (and your wife's) handicap.
3/4. Personally, I think the apparel industry is a highly competitive one especially given the fact that it has been dominated by big players (such as Solomon Lew) and other chain shops. And i think most ladies will find it weird to be served by a male, especially one that can't communicate with them efficiently.
You will appear unprofessional.
5. Yes, I think milk bar is a sunset industry, which is affected more or less by the dominance of big players like safeway, coles and IGA. And then you have the Chinese grocery shops and seven-eleven which impact to a lesser extent.
Just my humble opinion. Good luck! |
