CHRISTCHUCH 基督城

Caterpillar Garden Tours offers informative and fully guided electric shuttle tours through Christchurch's spectacular city centre Botanic Gardens.
Established in 1863 the gardens span an area of 21 hectares undoubtedly hosting the finest collection of exotic and indigenous plants to be found anywhere in New Zealand. Operating a continuous daily service, Caterpillar Garden Tours allows visitors to discover the natural beauty, history and culture of this central city oasis while at the same time being taken around the gardens in all weather comfort and style. The professionally guided tours have been designed to allow visitors the flexibility of staying on the shuttles for the full circuit (approximately 1 hour) to embrace the flora and fauna of the gardens at their leisure. Alternatively customers can choose to "hop on or hop off " at any of the clearly identified stops around the gardens. A single ticket purchased is valid for 2 continuous days.

Caterpillar Tours is situated in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens within Hagley Park. Shuttles depart every 30 minutes from outside Canterbury Museum and also the gardens kiosk.

Lake Takapo

Alpine Springs offers three adjoining main Hot Pools landscaped in local greywacke rock and surrounded by the regions native alpine plants to create a natural setting. Pool temperatures range from forty degrees Celsius to thirty six degrees Celsius. The pools have benched seating around the edges so you can sit back, relax and soak.
Each pool takes the shape of a lake in the area giving them a natural feel and offering many private seating arrangements. Each pool offers something different in the latest technology - massage jets to assist in taking away any aches and pains and fountains to splash under. Each of these three pools are forty square metres of surface area and a metre deep at their deepest point. Please refer to the concept plan for a visual reference.

Mount Cook
蓝天、白云、雪山、碧湖、绿色相间的原野和山林-Mount Cook National Park
库克山国家公园内三分之一的地区终年积雪， 库克山Mount Cook是新西兰最高峰，相对高度3000米，也是大洋洲第二高峰，饮誉新西兰屋脊之称. 群山的谷地里，则隐藏着许多条冰川。有呈深赭石色的冰蚀湖，有清澈翠绿的雨水湖，山影碧波，风光无限. 库克山被冰河侵蚀成V字形的山谷前，有两个宁静而美丽的湖泊位于其间，即Lake Pukaki 和 Lake Tekapo。
Hooker Valley track长九公里，来回约需3~4小时，是库克山国家公园最著名的步道。沿途除了有库克山峰和周围群峰美景相伴，春夏两季青翠的高山草地上，还有如库克山百合等无数美丽的花朵灿烂相迎。Alpine memorial是眺望山谷景色的绝佳据点,接近Mueller Glacier时，还可欣赏高山与冰瀑的壮观景象。此外，越过Hooker Valley的吊桥，也是此行的乐趣之一.Hooker Valley track尽头是Terminal Lake，一般游客多半在抵达这座蓝色冰河湖后，即按原路折回；往前还有曲折的步道通往Hooker小屋 (Hooker Hut)，但为了安全起见，必须是有向导同行的队伍，才可继续向前。
除Hooker Valley外，此地还有许多短程步道，如终点为Kea Point的高山鹦鹉角小径，来回三小时，可看到Hooker Valley、穆勒冰河与冰河湖，这条步道上还有一条岔路，可通往景致优美的Sealy Tarns；此外， Wakefield Track 则是沿着Hooker Valley而行。1小时的红潭阶梯攀爬(Red Tarns stair-climb)。

BLUE LAKES AND TASMAN GLACIER VIEW (40 mins return)
For great views of the lower Tasman Glacier and mountains at the valley head, walk from the Blue Lakes Shelter past the lakes to a viewpoint on the moraine wall. The Blue Lakes offer good swimming in summer and can be reached by making a side trip off the main track.
TASMAN GLACIER LAKE (1 hr return)
This walk branches off the Tasman Glacier View Track just past the Blue Lakes Shelter and leads to a viewpoint of the glacier terminal lake and the source of the Tasman River. Icebergs can be seen floating in the lake in summer and in winter the lake freezes over.
HOOKER VALLEY (30 mins, 2½ hrs or 4 hrs return)
The most popular walk in the area is the Hooker Valley walk. Starting at The Hermitage, the walk takes in the camping ground, the site of the original Hermitage, an Alpine Memorial, and two swing bridges until the final destination of the Terminal Lake at the bottom of the Hooker Glacier is reached. Approximately four hours return, it provides spectacular views of Aoraki Mount Cook. The walk can be reduced by approximately 1½ hours by starting at the camping ground.
The Mueller Glacier lookout point
An easy 30 minute return walk from the camping ground. The walk to the first and second bridges has some steps, and is easy to moderate difficulty. There are toilets past the second swing bridge.

Blue Pools & Bridle Track Trek
This combination of walks is definitely a highlight of the Haast Pass. The gravelled path gives easy walking through silver beech, and boardwalks and netting complete the walk to the viewing platform of Blue Pools. You may see large brown and rainbow feeding in the crystal clear pools. There is a swing bridge over the river which is always a unique trout experience in itself
After the Blue Pools we head to a picnic spot on Davis Flat for lunch. From Davis Flat, we follow the Bridle Track on the original and horse only access to the West Coast. The walk passes through Beech Forest, and follows the upper reaches of the Makarora River, the two river crossings are bridged.
We meet the vehicle at the top end at Haast Pass so there is no need to back track. Then we have lunch at Cameron Flat, with commanding views over the Makarora River to the Main Divide of the Southern Alps. After lunch, we walk down the gravel path through the Silver Beech to the Blue Pools, to spot feeding Rainbow and Brown trout from the swing bridge and the viewing platform in the crystal clear pools.
