With the school holidays beginning only days away the Department of Primary Industries has stocked local lakes right around the State just in time for the school holidays. This task has been enduring for many and provides plenty of children with the opportunity to catch Rainbow trout without the need to travel too far from home. Anglers fishing any of these lakes should do so using Berkley Powerbait nuggets for bait as these are an artificial bait the fish are used to feeding on.
Our local lake, Casey Fields has just received 500 rainbow trout, so if you need advice on how to set the kids rigs up, drop into the shop on your way through and we will get you set up for the best chance to catch a trout.
Some of the other lakes around the State stocked with rainbows are listed below but for the full list, head to the DPI website for more information.
Albert Park Lake, Albert Park – 1000 rainbow trout.
Eildon Pondage, Eildon – 2000 rainbow trout.
Casey Fields – Cranbourne – 500 rainbow trout.
Rowville Lakes, Rowville – 550 rainbow trout.
Seagull Lake, Geelong – 800 rainbow trout.
Karkarook Lake, Moorabbin – 1000 rainbow trout.
Emerald Lake, Emerald – 500 rainbow trout.
Berwick Spring Lake, Berwick Springs – 500 rainbow trout. |
