What is ICAS?
International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is conducted by Educational Assessment Australia, UNSW Global Pty Limited. UNSW Global is a not-for-profit provider of education, training and consulting services and a wholly owned enterprise of the University of New South Wales.

Students from over 20 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Pacific and the USA participate in ICAS each year. EAA produces ICAS papers that test students in the following skill areas:
•Computer Skills
•English
•Mathematics
•Science
•Spelling
•Writing

ICAS从几年级开始考？是学校给报名吗？

我记得是3年级。

学校到时候会发通知，统一报名的。（当然，不是强制性的）

由NSW大学主办，要另外交钱的，一次30几刀，满好的，给孩子考考，也知道大致实力在那里，对考OC有帮助的。

请教在进入普通中学以后还有机会进selective 中学吗？听说似乎有考试，不过不是大规模的。
在澳洲小学毕业的这个考试那么重要，是不是心理早熟的孩子会比较占优势？

我也听说高年级还有小规模考试。有知道的TX来确认一下吗？

这个考试不是小学毕业考，是小学6年级刚开始的时候就进行的选拔考。心理早熟的孩子，在哪里都占优势。天才都早熟。但是因为NSW精英系统比较强大，心理不那么早熟的正常孩子也有机会。

Selective High Schools Years 8-12 Placement

Vacancies may occur in Years 8 to 12 in selective high schools.

Entry to selective high schools in Years 8 to 12 does not depend on a centralised program as entry to Year 7 does. A common application package applies to all schools and is available from the selective high schools, school education group offices and on the Internet. A separate application form must be provided to each selective high school you choose, up to a maximum of four schools.
