Hi freshpoint
Really inspired by your story.
I am always thinking about move to finance industry, especially investment banking business (if lucky). Do you mind to leave a email to me as I got s ...
To be honest, don't think degree/qualification matters that much in investment banking espeically in Australia. If you are well connected and well spoken with good knowledge of finance and interpersonal skills, you could get straight in from mgmt acct. The IBers I deal with are not be best analyst (that's why they could not pass CFA), but they have great interpersonal skills and communication skills. However, given the current eco envrioement, it's not easy to land on any IB jobs. If there is a structural change in the system, those jobs may never come back.
So better research the market well, and determine what you want to be end up with in 5 yrs before you start CFA program - it's a LT committement for at least 3 yrs.
Good luck |
