Couldn't disagree more, Samsung's is the equivalent of slapping two s9s together. Basic, basic foldable approach. Mate X actually brings a new paradigm and gives us what a foldable should be.. Besides the Hinge, getting everything they did in the bar is no mean feat.

On its own, the huawei looks better.
Can't compare the price directly, Samsung's Fold is 4G, and 5G price will cost more.

If I were to get a fold phone , which at the current price I won't. I like the phone mode on the mate X . A 6.6 inch no bezel phone vs 4.6 on the galaxy. I would probably use in phone mode 80 percent of the time and at 4.6 inches and the thickness for me mean Huawei win this round.

Overall in my opinion
Mate X is a normal phone but can also be used for an 8.0 inch tablet. Galaxy Fold is more of a tablet. Its front screen is too small for a phone while the 7.3 screen is too small for a tablet. Think about that, the Mate 20X is already 7.2 inch. I'm very disappointed about Samsung this time. They shouldn't have brought this ugly device (particularly the hole while folded) since they earn a lot more than Huawei do
