The revitalisation of Hornsby’s west side has taken a big step forward. Although the proposed height limits have been finalised, Council wants more input into the design details for future high density development.
Council has sent the Hornsby West Side Planning Proposal, which identifies overall maximum height limits ranging from 8 to 25 storeys, to the Minister for Planning for finalisation. Council has also made a number of amendments to the supporting planning controls as a result of submissions from the community. Some of the amendments include:
Encouraging car share schemes;
Green walls and roofs;
Travel plans which promote walking, cycling and the use of public transport;
Wind effects reports; and
Minimum site frontage requirements. |
