Job description
We are seeking applications from experienced, passionate and dedicated Software Developers with a background in and a passion for mathematics who want to join a team, who are responsible for contributing to the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of general enterprise applications. These applications all contribute directly or indirectly to the placement of large transactions into financial markets. The role will require out of hours on call responsibilities on a rotational basis following the successful completion of the probationary period and some occasional interstate overnight travel may be required.
Desired Skills and Experience
In order to be successful in this position, candidates must possess the following:
Attributes and formal qualifications:
A strong and proven focus on outcomes and deliverables.
Dedication to finding resolutions to problems at all hours (generally, but not always, when “on call”).
Commitment to projects including extended post-implementation
Self-motivated, pro-active and strong organisational skills.
A degree in software programming or equivalent.
An interest and/or degree in mathematics.
Object oriented programming & design at an advanced level.
A willingness to learn how to develop with and use Embarcadero Delphi if not already an existing competency.
Working within a team from small (3-5 people) to large (8-12 people).
Communication verbal and written; specifically interpersonal and group presentation skills; coupled with the ability to communicate effectively under pressure as required.
Software project time management and meeting critical system deadlines.
Automated testing and automated deployment.
Proven competencies and demonstrable experience in:
Although not specifically required the following competencies and experience would be highly regarded:
C++.
SQL and PL/SQL.
TCP/IP and web technologies.
