St Paul’s Grammar School is an independent Christian school teaching the International Baccalaureate (PYP,MYP & Diploma) and Board of Studies programs from Pre K to Year 12. The successful applicant will be part of an innovative Faculty and will report to the Head of the Language Faculty.
Essential:
Demonstrate knowledge and excellence in Stage 4 & 5 Mandarin Language
Demonstrate excellence in teaching practice including student-centred, holistic, inquiry-based learning
Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the subject content in Language including a considered response to the current issues involving the teaching of the Mandarin Language.
Proven ability to work as a collaborative member of the Language faculty
Display a strong ability to integrate ICT into the teaching and learning of subjects within language
Utilise technology within the classroom and as part of the administrative structures of the school
Be thoroughly familiar with the teaching requirements of the International Baccalaureate and Board of Studies programs for language, including the development and implementation of National Curriculum.
Teachers who have not had experience in teaching International Baccalaureate courses would be trained accordingly. This may require overseas travel at the school’s expense.
Maintain strong academic and pastoral relationships with students and families, providing regular and timely feedback regarding academic progress, behaviour and application
Maintain appropriate levels of classroom discipline
Be actively involved in the spiritual life of the school through involvement in Chapel, Morning Devotions and assemblies.
Actively supervise and pastorally care for a Tutor Group
Be involved in at least one school-approved co-curricular activity per year (Please note that this does not necessarily involve a Saturday sporting programme)
Desirable:
Demonstrate knowledge and excellence in Senior Mandarin or other Senior Language Subjects.
The successful applicant may have training in first aid.
Please note that this is a part-time position of 0.42FTE
