遇害的中国女生名叫Jiao Dan，年仅22岁，也是来自湖南长沙，今年年初刚刚抵达西澳首府珀斯，入读Edith Cowan University。
尸体被发现的地方仅距她的住处很短的距离。高级警探Paul Boult表示，尸体半裸，旁边有该女生的部分衣物，女生头部有伤痕，因此Jiao Dan疑似被凶杀。
Friends mourn dead Chinese student

Grieving friends of a Chinese student found dead on the front lawn of an Innaloo house have remembered the 22-year-old as an intelligent, polite and religious person.
The victim, believed to be 22-year-old Jiao Dan, from Changsha, China, was found about 6am today by two men who were picking up a friend for work.
Tragically, Miss Dan had only moved to WA earlier this year to study at Edith Cowan University, and was only a short distance from her Oswald Street home when she died.
Stirling Det-Sen. Sgt Paul Boult today said the death was being treated as suspicious. Miss Dan was partially clothed and may have suffered a head injury.
A back pack and folded items of clothing were found close to Miss Dan’s body.
"Some injuries give us concern and lead us to believe the death was suspicious," Det-Sen. Sgt Boult said.
Detectives today spoke to the five occupants of the house where she was found. All were released without charge.
Clearly distressed, Miss Dan’s close friend Min Ding said she was a very considerate person. It is understood she may have only moved to WA early this year.
“She’s a very clever girl,” she said. “She’s a Christian, she’s just a new baptised Christian from Christmas. She’s a very nice person. She’s always thinking of others.”
Police today door-knocked neighbours surrounding the Oswald Street site.
Residents ten houses away from where the body was found told reporters they feared the woman could be their Chinese boarder who did not arrive home last night.
Det-Sen. Sgt Boult said the forensic investigation was concentrating on the area around the body. No other crime scenes have been established.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have been in the vicinity since Monday night to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000. |
