Description
The Sydney Expanding Horizons Gala concert continues the relationship between NSW Department of Education & Communities Sydney schools and schools from China, which began in 2009. This concert brings young talented students from Australia & China to explore traditional & contemporary music & dance.
On August 19, 2013, over 300 outstanding performers from China will join nearly 1,000 Sydney students to perform in the magnificent Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.
A highlight of the concert will be the first performance in the Opera House of The Australian Folk Song Suite by Australian composer Dennis Vaughan for massed choir and orchestra. Schools from Shanghai, Chengdu & Nanjing will perform exciting choral music from China & joining us for the first are schools from Shenzhen performing new dance works.
