A little bit got confused here,
If your offer is a full-time employment (permanent) contract in IT company (top 500 rank), then most companies offer annual SALARY plus super i.e. 600K+9%Super. Under such circumstance, hourly rate is not practical for your income calculation. Your actual income calculation is basis of your salary instead of your actual working hours providing that there is no overtime working policy in the company.
I have been worked for three local companies, working time is from 9:00am to17:30pm or from 8:30am to 17:00pm, inclusively 1 hour for lunch, the minimum working hour in the contract is 7.5hrs.
So theoretically, if you just spend 30 minutes for lunch, then you can be off-work half an hour early. (because you have met with the min. working 7.5hrs requirement according to contract).
"半个小时公司送的" is a wrong concept, you do not get pay for this 0.5hrs.
The company my wife working for (ORACLE Corp, should be a top IT company and listed in 500), DOES have overtime time policy, but it is condition applied - You are eligible to have a PAID overtime work (under your boss permission) only if your salary is less than 420K. My wife told me there are lots of IT companies have the similar policy like this. So here I reckon it is not an easy thing for employee, to be attempt to increase their income by overtime working.
If your offer is on basis of (sub) contracting (temporary), then hourly rate is common way for calculation. Because your offer would show a hourly rate ONLY instead of annual salary pack, it is called WAGE (could be weekly or fortnightly pay) instead of SALARY (monthly paid). So, in such circumstance, you may ask 7.5hrs PAID actual working hours per day (no matter how long you spend for lunch maybe 0.5hr, maybe 1hr).
Incidentally, my wife think 630K+Super is OK on this job for a person without local experience, unless you are working for the same company in China and Australia (likely internal transfer). |
