Bookings for 2013 hunting season began being taken yesterday (1st Feb). Bookings are almost full already for the first 2 months. If you want to hunt Burrendong this year make your booking ASAP !!
Burrendong State Park & Recreation Area
Burrendong State Park & Recreation Area became available for hunting in 2011.
Hunting is only permitted between 1 May and 20 September each year, and only suitably licensed hunters with permission from the Park Office (details below) are eligible to hunt Burrendong.
Located 27km south-east of Wellington, the park is one hour's drive from either Orange or Dubbo, or five hours drive from Sydney.

The approved hunting area is around 5,000 acres and species found include:
fallow deer
feral goats
feral pigs
rabbits
foxes
hares, and
feral cats.
Hunting is limited to Firearms and Bows only and hunters access is via a locked gate (key issued with Written Permission). The State Park Office will determine numbers of hunters at any one time.

Bookings for the 2013 hunting season open on 1 February 2013.
Bookings must be for a minimum of two days and camping fees are payable with each booking whether you choose to use the facilities or not.
Cabins are available in addition to camping facilities.
