Company name comes from a company. Business names can be attached to any entities (Sole trader, partnership, trust or company)

When you register for a company with ASIC you can trade using the company name xxxx Pty Ltd. If you want to trade as xxxx without the Pty Ltd you need to apply for an additional trading name.:)

is that mean one company can have many business name? like i have a company, but i can have different ABN cover tourism, restanrant and financial service business?

Yes one entity can have many business names but one entity can only have one ABN. You can set up different "ABN branches" which allows you to trade in different industries but in my opinion the best way is to set up separate entities for different businesses.

you will want to separate the liabilities of each business and therefore each business should be run by a separate entity.
