In a IT compay, my friend injured his back whening lifting server.
What the policy for work-related injury? Is the company supposed to cover it?

Should be, he need to fill in a incident form (or similar) to document the injury and see a doctor to get the medical advice. It should be covered by company's insurence.

I got needle stick injury when I was doing nursing. That what i did according to the hospital policy. They follow me up with blood test to rool out infectious disease, but no other treatment. In your freind's case, physiotherapy should be covered, I believe.
