National Australia Bank chief boss John Stewart is predicting a halt to interest rate rises next year. Stewart said he was confident that the central bank had done enough to raise interest rates. "It takes time for interest rate rises to feed through the system ... up to nine to 12 months," he said. "I'm hoping, and I'm confident, that the Reserve Bank has done enough. We'll go through a period of stability next year and I'm very much hoping the next move will be down". |
