Accounts Assistant
*********** currently have a full time vacancy for a Accounts Assistant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the main focus of this role will be Accounts Receivable, however the position will also support the Accounts Payable function and include other finance team tasks.
The purpose of this role is to:
· Maintain and develop relationships whilst meeting business needs and minimising risk.
· Follow up and resolve all internal and external queries, including dispute resolution and problem solving.
· Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all records are maintained and kept up to date.
Duties will include:
· Processing of customer cash receipts, credit card payments and credit claims.
· Setup of new customer accounts and performing credit checks.
· Customer account reconciliations including follow up and adjusting entries as required.
· Assist in follow up of overdue customer accounts, ensuring past dues are kept at a minimum.
· Update and maintain customer account information in our ERP system.
· Assist in reviewing and sending customer monthly account statements.
· Assist in debtor reporting, and other ad hoc reporting.
· Assist in preparation of supporting documents for Auditors.
· Assist in Pronto (ERP) system development, process improvements, etc.
· Assist in preparation of procedures manual for finance team.
· Ad hoc assistance in general finance team tasks that vary and will also include processing supplier transactions, follow up and resolution of various outstanding items, reporting, etc.
Strong attention to detail, problem solving and time management skills are essential, along with a dedicated work ethic and a strong team focus. This role requires communication with both internal and external stakeholders and therefore strong written and verbal communication skills are critical.
Experience in a similar role will be highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications (incl. TAFE Certificate IV or a Diploma) in Accounting will be highly regarded. Strong Microsoft Office skills are critical, including intermediate to advanced Excel Skills.
