新闻引来了一些读者们的评论,除了大部分谴责这位父亲的评论之外,贴几个有意思的反面意见:

There should be no interference by the Government or Courts in parents rights in the raising of their children. If the father was totally determined to escape his situation in Vietnam for his kids - what right do 'experts' have to intervene. The founders of Australia had to focus and sacrifice and demand a lot of themselves and their children - why should new immigrants be different?

If this is classed as poor parenting and justifies giving sole custody to the other parent, does that mean all seperated Mothers who make poor parenting decisions will have to hand their children over to the Father? I think not!

Dont these people know that when they come to Australia they have to dumb down to our standards. Educated people are not valued in this country. So please, when you come here just buy your kids video games so they can fit in.

Were these children going around running amuck? No, they weren't. Was he being horribly violent towards them? Not a chance. He was doing something called PARENTING and ensuring that his children got to be the best they could be. This bloke should be applauded, not condemned. If all parents were like him there would be no crime in the younger age groups and surely his daughters will thank him for it in the future.

and yet the private schools have the expectation of after school/evening tutorials each and every night....and to compete in sports with the school team...how is that a rounded approach? |
