The survey asked Australians to rate their most trusted brands, professions, individuals and relationships.
When it comes to the most trusted professions, ambulance officers took the top spot for the seventh year in a row, followed by firefighters, nurses and pilots.
Journalists (ranked 35th) found themselves straggling behind lawyers, roof insulation installers and tow-truck drivers.
Telemarketers came in last, behind car sales people, politicians and sex workers.
In first place on the list of most trusted people was burns specialist Fiona Wood, keeping her title for the sixth year running in the Australian Reader's Digest Trust Survey.
Second place went to cancer researcher Professor Ian Frazer and Nobel Prize winner Professor Elizabeth Blackburn came in at third position.
In position four was Clean Up Australia founder Ian Kiernan.
Trooper Mark Donaldson, Australia's most recent Victoria Cross winner, was the fifth most trusted.
Teen sailor Jessica Watson debuted at number 48.
Australia's pollies were much closer to the list's rear-end.
The poll, conducted months before Julia Gillard became prime minister, ranked Ms Gillard at 78th position, ahead of former prime minister Kevin Rudd in 81st spot and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott in 89th place.
Also at the tail end was model Lara Bingle in 98th spot, ex-cricketer Shane Warne in 97th, and shock jock Kyle Sandilands, who claimed 100th position.
And when it comes to relationships, partners came in tops, followed by mums and best friends. Pets came in fourth spot, ahead of dads, siblings, in-laws and colleagues.
