Principal who warned of leak of NAPLAN tests urged to come forward by authorities

AUTHORITIES are calling on ``the concerned principal'' who warned them national test material had been leaked in Queensland to come forward.
It comes after The Courier-Mail revealed this morning the principal had alerted authorities one week before the national exams he or she had been made aware of upcoming exam material.

``If this does prove to be correct,'' the ``concerned principal'' wrote, ``it raises the issue of ethics in some schools since all NAPLAN material is supposed to remain sealed until the morning of the test.
``It is widely suspected that in previous tests, some schools in Queensland have coached students in the stimulus material which appeared on the test.''

Queensland Education Minister Geoff Wilson, Education director-general Julie Grantham and Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority CEO Dr Peter Hill have all urged the principal to come forward so the matter can be ``properly investigated''.
