Q: Have you contacted any companies by other agents or yourself?

An agent and me were chating in her office.


answer:

No.

Reason:

雇主并不在乎有好几个AGENTS同时把你的简历放在他的桌子上.但是AGENT在乎.因为只有一个AGENT能拿到钱.所以AGENT不希望有竞争.
另一个很重要的原因,如果你告诉了他,另一个AGENT把你的简历给了ARUP(FOR EXAMPLE).他就知道ARUP在招人.他会把另一CENDIDATE推荐给ARUP.你就面临着不应有的竞争.
我亲身的惨痛教训啊.

如果你不告诉agent A另外一个agent B已经把你的简历递给了ARUP， 然后agent A也把你的简历递上去了，最后你也得到了这个offer的话，你就等着吃官司吧。

It depends. If it is a general question, you can tell the agent that you are contacting some other company and position. It does not mean you need to tell them with whom or which company. Doing that, you could put yourself in a better position with the agent. But need to take in account that agent might consider your availability.

However if the agent is asking whether you have applied or contacted with other agent about this particular position, you had better tell them the truth.
