Instead of burning money for those golden medals, the government should spend this piece of budget on the improvement of public healthiness.
It is not a good deal to trade our taxes for golden medals. Do those golden medals mean our nation is on the top of the world? No. Golden medals can not raise our people’s living standards; golden medals can not speed up our developments and constructions. The only thing those golden medals can bring to us is mere illusion. Ideal sports spirit is based on the independent individuals. The interferences from big organisations or governments will pollute the spirit of sports.
The government should put enough budgets on the healthiness of the public. The government should build facilities for peoples to do sports, such as cycling paths, football fields, children playgrounds. The government can provide information and knowledge regarding keeping fit to the public. Brochures, TV programs and radio programs are good mediums for the information. The government also can organise some activities to encourage people to do more exercises, for example, long distance race, riding to work. |
