Dear officer,
I am writing in regards to a parking ticket which I received today at Care Park Footscray (Corner Hopkins Street & Moore Street).
Ticket number: 83267849
Date: WED 26/08/2009
Time: 3:30pm
Rego Number: XXXXXX
Officer ID: 082
I actually was very surprised when I found the ticket on the windscreen, because I did buy a ticket as soon as I arrived there (at approximately 2:10pm). I kept in mind that the ticket would expire 4:09pm so I got back to my car at 4:05pm.
The reason given was “the vehicle did not display a valid ticket or pass), which I can not agree with. However, I found the ticket was located quite on the edge of the windscreen (as shown in picture 1, see attached), it might have been overlooked by the officer. I did not mean to put it there----it might have been blowed aside as it’s an extremely windy day today.
In picture 2, you may clearly see the ticket but you do need to take a very close look from the right angle.
Picture 3 shows the time I bought the ticket, expire time and amount paid.
I also took a picture of some of my collected tickets that I bought at the same car park. Just wanted to demonstrate that, I always do the right thing. Not only because I want to be a responsible citizen, also because I know there are always some officers actively inspecting----I won’t risk it, as I’d be caught for sure if I did.
I think it’d be very possible that there’s security camera near the ticket machine. If so, you will be able to see me buying the ticket from the machine.
What I am trying to show is, I did do the right thing (today and always) so I don’t deserve to be fined. I would be very grateful if this issued fine can be waived. In the future I will double-check the position of my parking ticket and ensure it can be seen easily by an officer.
Many thanks for your consideration, I look forward to your kind response. |
