给孩子的中文礼物

孩子生在澳洲，所以听从childcare老师建议，孩子先学会的英文，当然现在孩子自然而然变成双语了。我们暂时没有计划报中文班，快到学龄了又不甘心孩子做个中文文盲。所以我就整理了一些中国的名言，哲理，警句，其中很多可以展开来讲个故事，希望能成为ABC小孩了解中国历史和中国文化的引子。

我给自己定了以下的筛选标准：
•        兼具语言美感，实用性，和智慧，并且仍然是有生命力的语言。
•        有历史的积淀，所以有很多来自先秦的作品。顺便吐槽一句《三字经》《弟子规》什么的太多糟粕了
•        为了保留语言的魅力，尽量采用直译。英语里有含义非常类似的谚语，就不采用直译
•        很多脱离文化背景、历史知识就难以理解的谚语，只能舍弃
一山不容二虎，One mountain can’t accommodate two tigers.
覆巢之下焉有完卵，When a nest is overturned, the eggs can’t be unbroken.

君子爱成人之美，A superior person should love to help other people accomplishes.
道不同，不相为谋 people of different aspirations cannot get along together
割鸡焉用牛刀 Slicing chicken with a butchers knife for bulls.
工欲善其事，必先利其器 A craftsman must sharp the tool if he wants to do his job well.
磨刀不误砍柴工  Sharping the knife does not waste any time for chopping firewood.
行不贰过Only a fool makes the same mistake twice.
举一反三，Learn about many things through one instance.

拔苗助长. You can’t pull up a plant up to help it grow faster.
杯水车薪  Using a cup of water to put out a cartload of fire.
春秋无义战, There are no justice in the wars in Chunqiu.
得道多助，失道寡助 There will always be more support for the justice side.
事半功倍.The right method only needs half the effort and generate twice the output.
一暴十寒  Work hard for one day and waste 10 days doesn’t make you a good learner.
以邻为壑 A country should use the neighbour as a storm water drainage.

眼见为实，Seeing is believing
一山还有一山高，There is always another higher mountain somewhere.
当局者迷，旁观者清。Sometimes an outsiders can see more clearly than ourselves.
此地无银三百两 He give himself away when he tried too hard to protect it.
拆东墙补西墙。Break the east wall and use the brick to repair to wall in the west.
不撞南墙不回头，Does not turn back until he hit the wall.
冰冻三尺非一日之寒，A meter’s thick of ice cannot form in just one cold day
放长线钓大鱼， Make the fish wire longer for larger fish.
成事不足败事有余，not Good enough to accomplish good deeds and bad enough for making bad deeds.
成者为王败者为寇，The winner is king and the loser will become a thief. The winner is always right and the loser is always wrong.
君子欲讷于言而敏于行 A superior person is always good at acting, not good at talking.
君子藏器于身，待时而动 – A superior person should develop the capability within himself, and act when its necessary.
毋意，毋必，毋固，毋我 – no suspicious, authoritative, no stubborn, no opinionated
小不忍，则乱大谋 - A little impatience spoils great plans
过而不改，是谓过矣 – A wrongdoing is only solidified when someone refuse to admit and correct it.

同吐槽一下弟子规，都是什么玩意儿。 内容糟粕不说，语言的美感也没有。

怀疑那些让孩子背弟子规的，都是没有真正看过的。

这一句直译就很难保留原意。

在澳洲的孩子的确要把中文学好。

如果还是学龄前儿童，建议学中文就用中文去讲解，这样才有可能学到中文的思维方式，让中文接近第一语言！这样学中文，虽然看上去是精心选择了一些材料，其实是浪费了第一语言的生活环境，限制了孩子的思维发展！
