Sewer service diagrams typically depict the sewer lines that collect and transport wastewater, including household and industrial waste, from homes and buildings to treatment facilities. On the other hand, stormwater channels are designed to collect and transport rainwater and runoff from streets, buildings, and other surfaces to bodies of water.
In many cases, stormwater and wastewater systems are separate and distinct to prevent contamination of drinking water sources and to improve water quality in streams and rivers. Additionally, stormwater systems often discharge into natural water bodies, whereas wastewater is treated at a sewage treatment plant before being released into the environment.
In conclusion, stormwater channels are not part of the sewer service diagram because they serve a different purpose and are separate from the sewer system. |
